In my last post I mentioned a person.....Blanche. We have been friends for a long time, and it all started in a beginner's class, Blanche was one of my best students. She continued and now she teaches patchwork and quilting regularly in F. in the Canary Islands, Spain. She invited me often to come and visit this beautiful island......then she had a brilliant idea, she invited me to teach a class to her students.....and here I am! She story of our friendship is long and full and I can summarize it by saying that we are like sisters, we've gone many places together and done many things. We lived with her and her family for two months when our home was not yet finished....well we have many memories and this two weeks will be one of them, a very special one....
Nel mio ultimo post ho parlato di una persona: Blanche. Siamo amiche da molto tempo e la nostra amicizia e' iniziata in un corso principianti di patchwork, Blanche era una delle mie migliori allieve. Ha continuato ad imparare e coltivare l'arte del patch ed ora insegna regolarmente a F. nelle Isole Canarie. Mi ha spesso invitato a venirla a trovare durante uno dei suoi soggiorni in questa isola stupenda......un giorno le e' venuta un' idea brillante, mi ha invitato a tenere uno dei miei corsi alle sue allieve......ed eccomi qua! La storia della nostra amicizia e' lunga e piena, posso riassumerla dicendo che siamo come sorelle, siamo state in tanti posti e fatto tante cose insieme. Abbiamo vissuto con la sua famiglia per due mesi quando la nostra casa non era terminata....abbiamo tanti ricordi e queste due settimane saranno uno di questi, uno molto speciale.....

P.S. For the sake of my wonderful hubby, Vincent, who graciously is back home, in the cold winter, holding the fort and manning the dog....I love you Vince, thank you for letting me do this. Jon, I think of you often, we both love beautiful islands, the sun and the water......
